Deadline Looms for $5,000 STEM and Tech Grants
Educators and parent groups have less than three weeks to apply for $2,000 to $5,000 grants from the Lowe's Small Toolbox for Education grant program. The focus for the 2017–2018 funding cycle is school improvement centered on one of four areas: technology upgrades, STEM programs, facilities improvements and safety enhancements.
The program, funded through the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation, has provided more than $54 million to schools to date. Over the last 12 funding cycles, more than 12,000 schools have received funding from the foundation.
For this year's funding cycle, there will be a maximum of 1,500 applications accepted, so it's possible the grant program will close sooner than its formal deadline of Sept. 29. Complete application details can be found at toolboxforeducation.com.
