STEAM Week:
Makerspaces and Creating an Innovation Ecosystem

STEAM Week | Makerspaces | Session 2 of 3

While college and university makerspaces provide a valuable resource for hands-on teaching and learning, they can also help build a culture of innovation on campus and in the surrounding community. Two institutions discuss how makerspaces contribute to an innovation ecosystem that serves the diverse needs of students, faculty, community groups, industry partners and employers.

Our panelists:

  • Carol Pepper-Kittredge, Statewide Project Director, CCC Maker initiative, California Community Colleges
  • Patricia Kahn, CIO and Assistant VP for Information Technology Services, The College of Staten Island, CUNY
  • Moderator: Rhea Kelly, Editor, Campus Technology
